Digital Media and Filmmaking Department

In Digital Media and Filmmaking students participate in one of three strands: Visual Communication, in which they study imagery, typography, graphic arts, web design, and photography; Digital Filmmaking, in which they are immersed in the filmmaking process from concept to screenwriting to production; and Animation, in which students study drawing, software manipulation, character and story development, and production of an animated story. Through their courses of study, students are trained in the elements of design and the principles of art. Students develop a portfolio of work and create artistic and/or marketable pieces that can be used for entrance into an institute of higher education. Students work with real-world clients and benefit from partnerships with professionals. Exhibitions and festivals are an integral part of the students' experience.
