Coronado School of the Arts for all San Diego - Facilities

Coronado School of the Arts boasts facilities to match the calibre of the program.

The school’s state-of-the-art performing arts center opened in January 2007 and includes a 600-seat theatre complete with an orchestra pit and fly space, Vortek computerized lift system, and computerized sound and lighting system. The 120-seat black box theatre allows for more intimate performances and includes a computerized sound and lighting system. CoSA performers also benefit from drama and musical theatre rehearsal spaces, a musical orchestra room, a scene shop, and two dance studios.

CoSA students benefit from using the latest technology and software. The electronic music studio provides students with state-of-the-art recording software (Protocol and Reason) and composing software (Sibelius). Two Mac labs include animation software (Maya) and the latest graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat). Technical Theatre Department students use CAD software.

Digital Media and Filmmaking students have access to the TV studio and editing labs, complete with film editing software (Final Cut Studio Pro 2), high definition and 24 frames per second cameras, as well as wireless microphones, jibs, and dollies.
