Program Overview
In CoSA's award-winning Musical Theatre & Drama conservatory, students with a passion for performing receive in-depth training in acting, singing, and dancing. Our program provides comprehensive education in theatrical performance, creating well-rounded performers ready for the stage or further education.
Through a combination of classroom instruction, practical workshops, and performance opportunities, students develop the technical skills and artistic expression needed to succeed in the performing arts.
The conservatory experience is enhanced by field trips to professional performances and workshops with guest artists from the theatre industry, providing students with real-world context and connections.

Performance Opportunities
Students are given multiple opportunities to perform each year, with regular productions drawing large audiences from the community and San Diego. A key component of the conservatory experience is semester jury assessments by faculty and industry professionals.
Fall & Spring Musicals
Participate in fully staged musical productions that showcase singing, dancing, and acting talents to the community.
Winter Play
Perform in a non-musical theatrical production, focusing on dramatic or comedic acting skills.
Musical Tour Group
Join a performance ensemble that presents shows for community groups and special events throughout the region.
REP Company & Improv
Create, write, and direct original scenes in our REP Company, or join our award-winning Improv group to develop comedic skills.
